Honouring and celebrating, a place for all.
CORE Community Services has celebrated their 40 years of serving the communities of South West Sydney with an unforgettable evening on 1st November 2019.
The evening’s theme “A place for all” showcased client stories and performances along with art works from the various groups run by CORE. Benjamin Law was a fabulous Master of Ceremonies and keynote speaker, Professor Kevin Dunn spoke with great passion on multiculturalism, immigration and settlement and the issues facing new entrants to Australian society.
Yvonne Santalucia, Chair of CORE’s Board of Directors said “this celebration gave everyone involved with the organisation throughout all these years the opportunity to come together and reflect on the achievements, challenges and learning that denotes what CORE is today. It is my hope that the positive energy on the night continues with us for many years to come.”
Ulla Bartels, the late founder of Fairfield Neighbourhood Centre which has become CORE Community Services Limited, was honoured for her vision and passion. Ulla was remembered as a person who ‘never shut the door on anyone in need’. A plaque was presented to her daughter, Ricci. It was through her vision and determination that the organisation grew into what it is now.
Today, CORE Community Services continues to deliver vital services to the people of South West Sydney, with a particular focus on culturally and linguistically diverse communities, children, young people and their families, people with a disability, the aged, and those facing financial disadvantage or hardship.
