The Settlement Services Programme is funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS) to assist newly arrived refugees, humanitarian entrants and migrant by enhancing their knowledge and access to local services. We support new settlers to Fairfield in their first five years with specific needs, encouraging their independence and participation in the Australian community.
CORE Community Service is a member of the NSW Settlement Partnership (NSP), a consortium of organisations that deliver settlement services in different areas of NSW.
Casework
Our highly experience bilingual case workers work with you towards empowering you to live independently in Australia. We assist with resolving issues that may arise, this includes; centrelink, utility companies, police, housing support, etc.
Community Education
We provide life skills information sessions, conduct workshops on varying topics to increase their knowledge of Australia’s legal system, health and nutrition, rights and responsibilities, traffic regulations.
Support Groups
We provide opportunities for individuals to build social connections and interact with others. We provide a safe environment for mothers, their children interact and learn new information and new methods of parenting.
Capacity Building
We assist individuals and groups to improve their skills that will enable access to employment or further education. We partner with TAFE and other training providers to run courses in hospitality, sewing, nail and beauty therapy.
