Chair of Board
Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Adult Education and has over twenty-eight years’ of experience in working in multicultural health and aged care. Yvonne joined CORE in 2012 as a member of the Board and has been involved with many community groups for the last 40 years.
Yvonne has a strong sense of devotion for the non-profit sector and has a passion and commitment for social justice and a strong interest in helping people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds reach their full potential.
Yvonne is the founder of the only residential facility for Spanish-speaking elderly in Australia and initiated research and community education programs for people living with dementia from CALD backgrounds and older refugees.
Yvonne was awarded the 1993 NSW Senior Citizens Award and the 2013 Australian Hispanic Women Business Network award – Outstanding Hispanic Woman Achiever. Most recently in early 2017, Yvonne was inducted into Zest Awards Hall of fame.
