Women In Leadership

CORE Community Services recognises the ongoing progress in diversity and inclusion in the workplace while acknowledging that gender biases still exist. Many women have had to work hard to be recognised for their skills and talents. On International Women’s Day, CORE celebrates the achievements of women and their contributions to communities and workplaces.

Event: Women in Leadership

On 9th March, CORE Community Services will host an event themed “Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID World.” The event will bring together guest speakers from various leadership roles to celebrate and inspire both current and future women leaders. It will highlight the achievements of women throughout the global pandemic and encourage ongoing leadership and empowerment.

Guest Speakers

The event features distinguished speakers including:

  • Marian Baird AO – Professor for Gender and Employment Relations, University of Sydney, speaking on her work with the Women and Work Research Group

  • Kira Lea-Dargin – Owner of Willow & Co Organics, an Indigenous skin care brand

  • Adjoa Assan – Youth Leader

  • Lamy Lan Le – Local business owner

  • Heba Jabbori – Former client and volunteer

Fairfield Local Area is a highly diverse community, with 50.7% of residents being female (ABS, 2016), making this event particularly meaningful for the local population.

Women in Leadership at CORE

CORE Community Services demonstrates strong female leadership across the organisation:

  • 71% of board positions are held by women

  • 63% of senior management roles are held by women

This reflects CORE’s commitment to empowering women and promoting leadership opportunities within the organisation and the wider community.
